Singapore-Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical is planning to bring onstream a 2.4 million mt/year (48,197 b/d) hydrocracker at its refinery in China's southern Guangdong prov- ince on February 23, which will enable the plant to produce higher quality products. Construction of the hydrocracker, which is part of a bigger expansion project at the refin- ery, began early last year and was completed recently, a refinery source said February 5. "We currently have seven hydrogenation units, which enable us to produce oil prod- ucts with higher emission standards," the source said.
