Chubu Electric expands LNG fleet ahead of supply

Tokyo-Japanese utility Chubu Electric is expanding its access to LNG tankers in anticipation of the start-up of its import agree- ments from Australian and US LNG projects. The Nagoya-based company-Japan's sec- ond-largest LNG importer after Tokyo Electric- has entered into three long-term LNG shipping charter contracts, including one for a new ship that received funding this week from state-owned Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
