Juba—South Sudan has welcomed Monday’s decision by Sudan to extend the deadline for shutting down the pipelines carrying its crude oil to the international market to September 6 from August 22, but added that it has not yet received an official notification. “We haven’t received a formal notification from Khartoum yet,” Mawien Makol Arik, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Platts on Tuesday.
