Hess terminal sale could change its US bunkering

Houston-Hess' plan to shut its Port Reading, New Jersey, refinery and sell its US terminal operations, could have an impact on its retail bunker fuel business, traders said. Hess has active ex-wharf bunkering operations at terminals in New Jersey at Hess-Bayonne, in Philadelphia at Hess- Pennsauken, in the mid-Atlantic at Hess- Baltimore and Hess-Norfolk, and in the Southeast at Hess-Charleston. "It doesn't mean they are exiting the bun- ker market," a regional bunker trader said, adding that Hess will, however, have to lease tankage space in the ports where it intends to continue bunkering.
