Sydney—Retail fuel supplies across parts of Australia are running behind schedule after a fleet of tanker trucks operated by Cootes Transport was taken off the road for safety checks. Cootes, which operates a fleet of 370 product tankers and 217 LPG tankers, transports 14 billion liters/year of liquid fuels, according to parent company McAleese Group’s website. The company has been undertaking safety checks on its fleet across the nation after a fatal accident involving one of its tankers in Sydney on October 1.
