Pemex loss doubles to $3.8 billion as reform looms

Mexico City—With a few weeks to go before the expected unveiling of what are supposed to be radical reforms of Mexico’s state-owned oil and natural gas industry, Pemex on Friday said its second-quarter losses doubled to $3.8 billion on weaker crude prices and a stronger Mexican peso against the dollar. The latest results from Pemex contrast with the $1.9 billion loss in the second quarter of 2012.
