Washington-Key lawmakers considering potential reforms to the Renewable Fuel Standard said that while the Environmen- tal Protection Agency's proposed 2014 rule, announced Friday, alleviates some problems with the law, it does not go far enough to remove future uncertainty. Representative Fred Upton, the Repub- lican chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said he and his staff would monitor how the EPA finalizes the rule, as committee members continue to consider whether to introduce legislation to change the statute.
