Platform problem stymies Shwe gas production

Beijing-The Shwe gas project offshore Myanmar in the Bay of Bengal has not started output because of a problem at the production platform. The project was originally due to come onstream from July 1. "There has been a problem with the Shwe platform and gas delivery is interrupted," an official with state-owned Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise's offshore production department said Tuesday.
