Karachi, Pakistan-Pakistan's new government plans to increase the price of compressed natural gas by 82% in an attempt to discour- age use in the transport sector, so that it can divert more gas to the power sector to reduce load-shedding across the country. The government, which was sworn in last month, wants to raise the pump price of CNG so that it will be 90% of the retail gasoline price, compared with 49% currently, a petro- leum ministry official said Tuesday.
