Jakarta—Indonesia’s Pertamina EP has stopped sending crude oil through a new pipeline to the company’s 130,000 barrels/day Plaju refinery in South Sumatra because thieves were siphoning off around 8,000 b/d of oil from the line. “We have halted 9,500-12,000 b/d of crude supply to Plaju since late Wednesday, as the oil thieves were siphoning off around 8,000 b/d from the pipeline ... We have no idea when we will resume supply...we are working with the police to solve the problem,” Pertamina EP spokesman Agus Amperianto said Friday.
