Ireland to launch new licensing round in early 2014

London-Ireland is planning to launch a new offshore licensing round early next year offer- ing acreage in all of the country's major Atlan- tic basins, the minister for natural resources Fergus O'Dowd said Monday. The round, scheduled to formally open in April 2014 and to close in September 2015, will continue to offer blocks on a two-year licensing option basis during which time com- panies will have to complete an agreed work program, the minister said.
