Kashagan could face new start-up delay

Moscow—The start of production from the long-delayed Kashagan oil field project in the Kazakh section of the Caspian Sea could be pushed back yet again—a further setback for the international consortium developing the giant offshore field. The Kashagan shareholders are set to launch the field by October, Kazakhstan’s oil minister Sauat Mynbayev said at a government meeting in Astana on April 23.
