Magellan readies US distribution system

Houston-Magellan Midstream Partners is "very close" to finishing the construction of an extensive US Gulf Coast crude pipeline dis- tribution system capable of moving crude oil from every pipeline terminating in the Houston area, CEO Michael Mears said Wednesday. "When we are done building this out, which we are very close to that point...we will have the capability to move crude oil from every existing pipeline coming into the Houston area to every refinery on the [Hous- ton Ship Channel] and in Texas City without capacity constraints," Mears said.
