ChemChina buys third oil cargo under quota

Singapore—China’s state-owned China National Chemical Corp., or ChemChina, has imported its third crude cargo under the 10 million mt/year crude import quota it was granted at the end of last year, taking the total volume it has bought off the international spot market in 2013 to 500,000 mt (3.7 million barrels). The state-owned refiner will receive a 100,000 mt (around 730,000 barrels) ESPO blend crude cargo over this weekend at Longkou port in eastern China’s Shandong province, a source at ChemChina said Friday. ChemChina bought the cargo through Unipec— the trading arm of state-owned oil major Sinopec, the source said.
