London—NYMEX April crude settled $1.37 lower March 1 at $90.68/barrel in the wake of weaker-than-anticipated manufacturing data in China and Europe. The front-month NYMEX crude contract bottomed out at $90.04/b in afternoon trade, its lowest level since December 31.
