UK’s Brent oil pipeline restarts after six-day outage

London—The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, or TAQA, began restoring crude flows through the UK’s Brent Pipeline System March 7, six days after the company was forced to shut down the key North Sea transit route over fresh oil leak woes. The 100,000 b/d Brent pipeline was shut down as a precaution early March 2 after TAQA discovered a new oil leak in one of the legs of its Cormorant Alpha platform, the offshore starting point for the Brent pipeline system.
