Pakistan’s oil demand forecast to grow 10%

Karachi, Pakistan—Pakistan’s oil products demand is forecast to rise by 9.7% to 21.5 million mt (431,800 b/d) in the current fiscal year ending June 30, 2014, led by strong gasoline growth as the government continues its efforts to shift consumers away from compressed natural gas. Adding to this, an improvement in cash liquidity at power plants and estimates of a 5% economic growth rate are seen boosting consumption of fuel oil and diesel, underpinning overall oil demand growth.
