KNOC lost $728 million from Harvest buy

Seoul-South Korea's state-owned KNOC suf- fered a loss of $728 million from its 2009 acquisition of Canadian oil producer and refiner Harvest Energy Trust, the country's par- liamentary office said, because of low North American oil and gas prices and poor refining margins. KNOC bought a 100% stake in the Calgary- based firm in October 2009 for $3.95 billion.
