Wisent starts Europe’s first dedicated shale oil drills

London—Polish explorer Wisent Oil and Gas has embarked on what it says is the first drilling campaign to specifically target shale oil in Europe. The company has already drilled a first well this year—Rodele-1—in its sector of Poland’s Baltic Basin, although after analysis of the available information on site it was decided to plug the well.
