US gas exports to re-slice demand pie

Washington—Not only is US gas demand expected to rise at a faster rate over the next 10 years than it did over the past 10, the pattern of growth is sure to look a whole lot different. While the past decade saw key demand sectors—industrial, residential, power generation— trade pieces of the overall demand pie, the next round of growth will involve the entry of significant new demand sources: primarily, exports of pipeline gas to Mexico and shipments of domestically produced gas as LNG to Europe and Asia.
