Long products prices beginning to fall in NE Asia due to downward pressure from customers

Long products prices remained stable over the past month, despite continued falls in raw materials prices, providing welcome relief for mills within the region. However, increasing pressure from buyers is leading to the start of price falls which we expect to continue into early next year. Demand for long products is expected to reduce further in Japan over the coming months after the surprise news that the country has entered a recession. In conjunction with a weak yen, this suggests positive conditions for exporters.
