Ministry cancels Reliance’s pipeline permits

Mumbai—India’s oil ministry has cancelled permits issued to Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Gas Transportation Infrastructure Ltd. to build four natural gas pipelines due to delays in execution of the project In 2007, the ministry authorized RGTIL to build a 928 km (575.36 miles) Kakinada-Haldia pipeline connecting Reliance Industries Ltd.’s giant gas fields and other prospective fields in the Krishna Godavari basin to West Bengal; a 577 km Kakinada-Chennai pipeline traversing through Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu; a 585 km Chennai-Tuticorin; and a 585 km Chennai-Bangalore-Mangalore pipeline.
