Algeria’s Sonatrach mulls revisions to energy security

Algiers—Algeria’s state-owned Sonatrach is looking at introducing new security measures for its oil and gas installations following the deadly siege earlier this month at the In Ame- nas gas facility, company chief Abdelhamid Zerguine said. “Sonatrach is looking now at new secu- rity arrangements for our oil and gas sites,” Zerguine told Algerian national radio Janu- ary 29. “We are carrying out an evaluation within Sonatrach that will be done together with the security services. There will probably be a revi- sion of measures to support this vital activity.”
