Santos hikes Gladstone LNG spending by $2.5 billion

Singapore—Australia’s Santos June 28increased the cost of its coalseam gas-basedGladstone LNG project to $18.5 billion, up16% from the previously estimated $16 bil-lion, with the additional $2.5 billion to bespent on accelerating upstream field develop-ment to optimize gas delivery.Santos has a 30% stake in the projectand said its estimated cost increase would be$750 million, adding that it has the balancesheet flexibility to fund its net share of theincreased costs.
