Ethanol output in key Brazil sugarcane region up 6%

Rio de Janeiro-Ethanol output in Brazil's key central-south sugarcane-producing region totaled 1.28 billion liters in the second half of June, up 6% on the 1.2 billion liters produced in the same period in 2012, industry associa- tion UNICA said Wednesday. The total was less than the 1.48 billion liters produced in the first 15 days of June this year, UNICA said, blaming the decline on heavy rains that had hit milling.
