Petronet LNG starts Kochi terminal

Mumbai—India’s Petronet LNG has started commissioning its 5 million mt/year Kochi LNG terminal on the west coast after it received the first LNG cargo on Tuesday but will only operate the facility at 10% of capacity due to delays over construction of a pipeline. The Wilenergy carrying 123,000 cubic meters of LNG from Qatar’s RasGas berthed at the Puthuvypin jetty Tuesday though the vessel landed in the outer channel eight days prior to its berthing, Petronet said, adding that there was an unforeseen delay in bringing the vessel to the jetty due to the weather.
