West Australia’s third gasplant opens at Devil Creek

Sydney—The state of Western Australia hasa third domestic gas processing plant follow-ing the official opening February 25 of theApache-operated Devil Creek facility.The plant, which processes gas from theReindeer field in the offshore Carnarvon Basin,raises Western Australia’s domestic gas produc-tion capacity by 20%. Apache owns 55% of theReindeer/Devil Creek project, with Australianindependent Santos holding the remaining 45%.Apache and Santos approved the develop-ment in April 2008, and the project representstotal investment of around A$1.1 billion ($1.2billion), the US company said in a statement.
