Alaska to truck LNG to Fairbanks by 2015

Anchorage—Alaska is determined to meet a two-year timeline to truck relatively cheap North Slope natural gas to Fairbanks and nearby areas through development of a small regional LNG facility, a state official connected to the project said Monday. The $205 million, 9 Bcf/year project would be partly funded by the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority and partially by private funds that would take equity in the project, James Hemsath, AIDEA deputy director for project development and asset management.
