London-The head of France's Total, Chris- tophe de Margerie, said February 20 he was yet to see the terms of Iraq's upcoming explo- ration licensing round, and therefore had yet to decide whether the company would take part. Speaking to reporters in London, he also suggested Total may not be allowed by Baghdad to bid in the auction, an apparent reference to the company's interest in taking exploration assets in the semi-autonomous northern Iraqi region of Kurdistan. "We are looking at opportunities [in Kurdistan]," he said, adding that Total would inform the federal Iraqi government in Bagh- dad of any developments.
