Western Australian oil fields shut on cyclone Narelle

Sydney—Oil operations offshore Western Australia have been shut-in due to the approach of the first tropical cyclone of the season, named Narelle. US-based Apache Energy shut-in production at its Stag and Van Gogh oil facilities late on January 10 in preparation for the passage of the cyclone, a company spokesman said. Stag and Van Gogh have nominal capacities of 8,800 b/d and 63,000 b/d, respectively.
