US’ Kosmos fails with appraisal well at Ghana’s Teak

London—US-based Kosmos Energy has plugged and abandoned its latest appraisal well offshore Ghana after it encountered non-commercial reservoirs, an unexpected setback after the well was expected to prove an expansion of the extent of the Teak light oil discovery. The disappointing result brings to an end a string of discoveries and successes by Dallas- based Kosmos and its partners, the UK’s Tullow Oil and the US’ Anadarko Petroleum, offshore Ghana.
