Foreign investment in Colombia hits $6 billion

Bogota-The director of Colombia's National Hydrocarbons Agency said January 18 direct foreign investment in the country's oil and gas industry likely hit $6 billion last year, or twice the $2.9 billion invested in 2010. In a talk before the Canaccord South American Oil and Gas Conference, Orlando Cabrales said Colombia's current crude pro- duction is averaging 980,000 b/d, and will soon surpass 1 million b/d.
