Gazprom Neft joins others in Iraq Kurdistan

Dubai—Gazprom Neft, oil arm of Russian gas giant Gazprom, has joined the posse of oil companies beating the path to Iraq’s semiautonomous Kurdish province, signing two production- sharing contracts with the Kurdistan Regional Government just as Erbil announced the imminent restart of oil exports. The Russian company said in a statement that its subsidiary, Gazprom Neft Middle East, had acquired stakes in the Garmian and Shakal blocks in the south of the semiautonomous region.
