ExxonMobil increases hold on North Slope gas reserves

Anchorage—ExxonMobil now owns a dominantmajority of Alaska North Slope natural gasreserves following an agreement announcedlate April 3 for Chevron to sell its 25% shareof the Point Thomson field to the Houston-based company for an undisclosed price.With the addition of the Chevron share,Exxon Mobil’s interest in Point Thomsonincreases to 62%. BP’s 32% share of the fieldremains unchanged, as does a 5% stake heldby ConocoPhillips and the remaining percent-age held by a number of minority owners.
