Spain’s Repsol begins legal steps against Argentina

Madrid—Spain’s Repsol said May 15 it has written to the Argentine government giving Buenos Aires six months to resolve their dispute over the expropriation of YPF, in what the Spanish company said it considered the start of legal action against Argentina. In an email to Platts, Repsol said it has written to Argentine President Christina Fernandez de Kirchner highlighting what it sees as a “violation of agreements” signed between the two countries in the 1990s.
