Houston—Traders of Brazilian ethanol saidlast week that their markets could get a boostin demand if rumors that the government isconsidering increasing the mandatory blendof ethanol in gasoline from 20% to 25% aftertalks with ethanol producers is correct.“The ethanol market in Brazil is long andin a need of demand. Any new demand [forethanol] is very welcome right now ... espe-cially demand for anhydrous. Producers arepushing the government to get it increased,”a veteran ethanol trader said.
