US approves cellulosic ethanol plant loan guarantee

Washington-The US Department of Agri- culture January 20 conditionally approved a $25 million loan guarantee to Fiberight for its proposed cellulosic ethanol plant in Blair- stown, Iowa. If the loan guarantee is finalized, the company will be on track to begin production before the end of this year, said Fiberight CEO Craig Stuart-Paul. Closing the loan could take 60-90 days, with additional time for permitting putting the start of construction sometime this summer, he said.
