Anchorage—Alaska Governor Sean Parnell onApril 16 called a special session of the Legisla-ture to begin April 18, following lawmakers’ fail-ure to adopt any significant changes to state oiland gas taxes when they adjourned late April 15.Under Alaska law, special sessions canlast up to 30 days.State lawmakers adjourned their 2012session late April 15 without passing a majoroil and gas tax change pushed by Parnell,a Republican, and the state House leaders,which is led by Republicans.
