US gas storage falls below 3 Tcf after big drawdown

Knoxville, Tennessee-A larger-than-predicted 132-Bcf withdrawal left US natural gas stor- age inventories at 2.966 Tcf for the week ending January 24, the Energy Information Administration said February 2. The net withdrawal was well above consen- sus expectations between 123 Bcf and 127 Bcf. But it was lower than the 187-Bcf pull a year ago and the 186-Bcf five-year average.
