PKN, Encana shale gas venture talks hit snag

Warsaw-Talks between Polish refiner PKN Orlen and Canada's Encana about possible shale gas exploration cooperation have hit a snag after Poland's government reportedly suggested PKN should refrain temporarily from forming joint ventures with international companies. An unnamed member of PKN's supervi- sory board told business daily Puls Biznesu January 30 that both companies had decided to postpone the signing of an agreement until the summer of 2012.
