OPEC trims forecast for call on own crude

London—OPEC said August 9 it expected demand for its crude this year and next to be lower than it forecast a month ago because supply from independent producers was likely to be higher than previously thought. And while the oil producer group left its forecasts of world oil demand broadly unchanged, it warned that actual demand could turn out to be lower than projected because of global economic uncertainty.
