Indonesia set to emphasize gas exploration

Vladivostok, Russia—Indonesia will be placing more emphasis on gas exploration and production as it battles the falling output of its crude oil resources, state-owned Pertamina’s President Director Karen Agustiawan said September 7. “We would like to optimize the use of gas, for households, electricity [production], transportation,” she said on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation CEO Summit in Vladivostok. “Energy used to be seen as just oil, now we are trying to make use of what we have.”
