UK's Centrica buys out ConocoPhillips' statfjord stake

Brussels-The UK's Centrica has agreed to pay $223 million for ConocoPhillips' 15% stake in the Statfjord oil and gas field in the North Sea and stakes in associated satellite fields, Centrica said January 30. The deal brings Centrica's stake in Stat- fjord to 34.3%. The other partners are Nor- way's Statoil, which is operator with 44.3%, and US major ExxonMobil (21.4%). The deal also brings a 12.1% interest in Statfjord Nord, a 6% interest in Statfjord Ost and a 6.7% interest in Sygna. This takes Centrica's total interest to 23.1% in Statfjord Nord, to 11.6% in Statfjord Ost and to 12.7% in Sygna.
