Eagle Ford oil refiner race heats up with new projects

New York—The race to secure barrels of Eagle Ford crude oil heated up August 23 with Flint Hills Resources and Kinder Morgan Energy Partners announcing a total of $340 million in potential projects aimed at taking production from the booming play to Texas refineries. In the larger investment, Flint Hills said it was considering a $250 million project to enable its 230,000 b/d West Refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas, to process more Eagle Ford crude.
