Pakistan PSO to take 65% of new refinery’s output

Singapore—State-run marketing company Pakistan State Oil has signed a sales agreement with domestic refiner Byco Oil Pakistan to purchase oil products from Byco’s greenfield refinery—a move that could result in a significant drop in PSO’s oil imports, a source close to the matter said May 22. The agreement will see PSO buy 65% of the refined products output from Byco’s new 120,000 b/d refinery at Mouza Kund, Baluchistan, once it goes on stream at the end of the year. The rest of the output from the refinery will go into Byco’s own retail system and possibly for sale to other retailers, the source said.
