NYMEX RBoB drops on gasoline stock build

New York—NYMEX November RBOB settled sharply lower October 17 after US Energy Information Administration data showed a 1.72 million-barrel build in US gasoline stocks for the week ended October 12. Front-month RBOB settled 6.36 cents lower at $2.7817/gal. The backwardation in NYMEX RBOB has also narrowed in recent days, while spot physical differentials throughout the US has weakened. The November/December spread settled at 1.75 cents/gal, down from 4.32 cents/gal the prior day, and from 15.19 cents/gal on October 5.
