摘要

Oklahoma City—A subdued Aubrey McClendon presided June 8 over Chesapeake Energy’s annual meeting and watched control of the company he founded 23 years ago begin slipping from his hands. Added to the sales block June 8 was $4 billion worth of midstream holdings (see story page 7). It wasn’t just activist shareholders Carl Icahn and Mason Hawkins who wielded power at the company’s Oklahoma City headquarters. A large majority of stockholders voted to expel two board directors and approve a slew of measures designed to give investors more leverage over the Oklahoma City oil and gas producer and its controversial CEO.
