Poland’s PKN sees April margin hit $6.60/b

London—Poland’s largest refiner PKN Orlen said May 8 its model refining margin for April soared to a more than a three-year high at $6.60/b, almost three times the margin for March, although analysts believe the recovery may only be temporary. The last time PKN’s model margin was as high was in January 2009. PKN saw dismal refining margins throughout 2011, averaging just $2/b and hitting a year-low of just $0.40/b in April last year.
