Statoil confirms size of new Arctic finds

Copenhagen—Norway’s Statoil has confirmedits resource estimates for its major Skrugardand Havis oil and gas discoveries in the Arcticwaters of the Barents Sea following new drilling.The Norwegian group said March 6 thatthe Skrugard and Havis finds hold up to 600million barrels of oil equivalent, underpinninga future joint development plan in the remoteArctic region.Statoil said it is now moving towardschoosing a development concept for the twofinds after the latest appraisal well encoun-tered oil and gas.
