India’s Reliance earnings fall 21% in April to June

Mumbai—Indian refining and petrochemical giant Reliance Industries Ltd reported July 20 a drop in profits for the third quarter in a row as profitability fell across petrochemical, refining and E&P segments. Net profit for the April-June quarter fell 21% to Rupees 44.73 billion ($809 million) on year, RIL said in a statement. RIL’s net sales for what is the first quarter of the company’s financial year increased 13.4% to Rupees 918.75 billion, compared with Rupees 810.18 billion in the corresponding period last year.
